Thousands flock to this typically Mediterranean island
every year to soak up sun, history and good hospitality,
furthermore a solution to 30-year division may soon see
the Turkish occupied North re-united with the Republic South.
Lefkosia, the main arrival point, is carved
up by the dividing green line, but includes an old town,
inside the 16th-century Venetian walls, Byzantine museum,
ancient Famagusta Gate Selimiye mosque (13thC) and Büyük
Hammam (baths).
